Hi everyone! Finally, Hommage Records are out with two new exciting releases! HRLP002 is E-Man, the first project of Geir Jenssen, Norway's most famous electronic artist. He released the E-Man project on cassette in 1984, before forming Bel Canto and later Biosphere. HRLP003 is called The Temptation Tapes, Volume I. The Tapes consist of ten demo tracks from the various projects Tor Dybdahl was involved in, including Clockwork Orange, Downers, Horsemen and The French Connection. They're both available in our Shop. More information about the releases, and some songs from each, are available on Hommage Records' Myspace page. To celebrate these two new releases, Hommage Records will have a party in Oslo @ The Sound of Mu, on Sunday, 13th December. So, hi everyone, Before announcing the next few releases, I’d like to mention a few things that have happened since Maskindans came out early this year – there’s been a lot of activity among the Maskindans artists… -Adrian Cox has a new CD out on Ambolthue! 99 Sanger is a project he worked on in the mid-to-late nineties – in fact, it’s a CD with 99 songs on it. Obviously, some very short songs – one friend described it as a sort of synth haiku… It’s a great project, a lovely release and can be ordered from www.ambolthue.com – although I do suppose I shall have a few to sell from my shop as well. -White Lord Jesus have a documentary out! It’s in Norwegian, but it’s subtitled and a very interesting view too. Watch it here: http://www.vimeo.com/6282455 -Lots of the ‘Maskindans’ bands have Facebook groups or MySpaces up. I’ll update Links as soon as I can get round to it, but off the top of my head, I recommend Facebook groups on WLJ, The Cut and Grå, the Norsk Synth group has a few videos from the Maskindans releaseparty, and on MySpace: Jan Berg (Blue Mathue, Clockwork Orange) has his Aurora project up, Nekropolis (Trygve Mathiesen and Thanasis Zlatanos) are back and have made a lot of new demos this year, Brød & Sirkus, PLX-15 and Mørkelagt Bevegelse have archive material and biogs out and Shit Tapes have a page with an exclusive Headcleaners track among other things. -Some of the Maskindans bands have had live performances this year, some more are just around the corner: -PLX 15 rock the Nødutgang festival in Bodø on the 23rd. Hey, that's tonight isn't it? Well, if you read this, jump on the next plane to Bodø! -Famlende Forsøk play Høvikodden on October the 25th (at four in the afternoon so be early!). -Horsemen play Blitz the last weekend in November …Meanwhile, rumour has it that Boxbury Beat are going to Germany to play a small club somewhere, sometime, in January… Hommage Records’ next releases are

I’ll post more info on them asap, I just wanted to wake this webpage up first… Thanks to everyone who made the Maskindans compilation and releaseparty such an astounding, shocking, amazing success! The response was a lot higher than I had anticipated, to say the very least, and it’s been very rewarding to see how this compilation of songs was received. Another quick update, this time to say, the Maskindans compilation is back in stock, and over the last few days it has been shipped to all the beautiful people who ordered it from the Hommage shop. If you didn't already get it, expect it very shortly! The compilation is rather a success in Norway, to the shock of its creators - it's been reviewed and/or reported in several nationwide newspapers as well as the local papers from the hometowns of certain artists represented on the discs. -It's strange to see a compilation you've been working on placed on the bestseller list of a CD chainstore... More promotion work follows, it's simply a matter of having more units to shift. Then, as always, there's a mess of red tape to sort out... However: Once the storm dies down, it's time to start working on the next Hommage release...  Oh! Another thing: If you're in Oslo in mid-April, a new club night is opening which looks promising: the Altern80s club. Details: http://www.myspace.com/altern80s. I'm DJ'ing there their first night. Hi everyone, The compilation "Maskindans - Norsk synth 1980-1988" was sold out the day after release, and is currently being reprinted. I was hoping to get new copies in early March, but now it looks like it's going to be another week and a half before I have them! This means, orders that have not been shipped already will not ship until 11. March at the earliest! Ie. if you ordered the CD and haven't received it yet, we are looking at another two weeks delay. Obviously, I'm devastated over this, but it's out of my control and there appears to be nothing I can do... I'll refund those who ordered if you want your money back, of course; just contact me with your order number and I'll sort it out. And of course, to those of you that do not want a refund: Thanks for bearing with me! A bizarre turn of what should really have been great news - how many reissue labels of synth music from the eighties do you know, that SOLD OUT their first release the day after it came out? :-o |
